Samsung's Privacy Display: Future of Phone Security Revealed! (MWC 2026) (2026)

Samsung Display is showcasing some exciting new features at MWC 2026, including the Galaxy S26 Ultra's Privacy Display and innovative ways to utilize it. The highlight of the booth is the 'Flex Magic Pixel' technology, which enables partial sections of the display to enter privacy mode. This technology is already used for incoming notifications, but Samsung is exploring new options, such as covering the bottom half of the screen (including PIN and pattern entry) and the edge panel. While the latter may not be immediately useful, it's great to see Samsung testing more partial coverage options. The company has also unveiled other display concepts, such as LEAD 2.0, which promises thinner bezels and brighter panels, and a slidable phone concept previously shown at CES 2025. Samsung's understanding of Qi2 magnets is evident through the use of magnetic mounts and stickers on the Galaxy S26 Ultras throughout the booth. Overall, Samsung Display is pushing the boundaries of display technology, offering consumers more control and flexibility over their devices.
